movie poster

In this project I, we were given a task to make a movie poster based on a 'movie that we made'. It includes the plot of the movie, the main character(s), mood board, and many more. We also need to include figure drawing(s), natural element(s), man-made object(s), and typography.

farnsworth house

Project II is about Farnsworth house. Through this project, we were able to understand floor plan, elevation, section, axonometric drawing, one-point perspective and two-point perspective. This project helped us in understanding technical drawings better.

sensory and spaces

The final project is a collaboration with Architectural Design I where Design Communication module will grade the drawings based on the structure we have build in studio I. All of the drawings are compiled in 4 A1 paper.

Design Communication or DECOM is a module led by Dr. Filzani Illia. My respective tutor for this module is Ar. Zahari Zubir. This module is essential for my foundation or basic in architecture because it teaches me to draw better especially in terms of technical drawing. Being in Ar. Zahari's tutorial group has been beneficial and quite demanding too, because he likes to focus on the details, but gives very good advices too.

Project I was quite fun to do because we were given the freedom to choose what we want and like. It was not that hard in terms of idea, but quite difficult in making those ideas come to life in a a3 poster drawing. In this project, I learned about the importance of typography and colors.

The second project or the farnsworth house project was difficult because it was a very technical drawing that needs a lot of detail, even though we were given already the examples or drawings to follow. I spend a lot of time in campus because of this project as it requires larger space to work, especially the perspective drawings. Though it was quire memorable as almost all of us stay up late in studio to do this. Through this project, I was able to learned better on how to draw technical drawings and its terms.

The final project, the collaboration project was laborious as the drawings we need to draw was pure from our design and our 1:10 model which was quite challenging to do. Nevertheless, I was glad that design communication final project was a collaboration because that way I can put my mind on 'one project'. Through this project. I realizes the importance of line thickness, material textures and thickness, anthropometrics, and ergonomics.

I am grateful that I got this module in my first semester as it really helped in improving my drawings, especially the technical drawings.
