project 2

analysis report

Project I is an analysis report which is done by groups. We were given the freedom to choose which era we would like to research on; my group chose Ancient Rome. The architectures we chose were Pantheon and The Baths of Diocletian.

sketch analysis

Project II is sketching analysis where we would need to make a infographic based on the given architectures hand-drawn. Me and my friend get to visit the site in Kuala Lumpur and it was such a nice and relaxing experience especially after being stuck in studio all day.

Architectural History and Theory or AHT is a module led by Dr. Filzani Illia. In this module, my respective tutor was Mr. Nicholas. After going through this module, I learned more about the history of architecture from way back and I realizes it was quite not boring as I thought it would be and was interesting.

In the beginning of project I, I thought it would be easy and chill because it was a group work and my friends are in my group. But it was not quite what I expected because as usual in a group, there are some who are quite hard to work with. Mr. Nicholas was very helpful in giving us information and suggestion, especially in recommending us to choose The Baths of Diocletian which we never heard of. Overall, through this project, I was able to understand better Ancient Rome architecture and how important is harmony in group work.

Project II was quite fun actually because I get to visit the site and see them better. Of course, google and real life is so different, the impression me and my friends got is different after we visit. We are so glad that we decided to visit. Sketching the architecture is so much better after seeing the real building. Through this project, I realizes the importance of visiting the site because it made me more interested in researching its history after I saw them.

I also am grateful for this module and the tutors for giving such boring topic in a such interesting way. I was able to understand the various era, styles, and history in architecture.
